Project Update

Here's an updated photo of my quilt. This week, I finished making the top, put the quilt sandwich together, and actually began to quilt it. What do you think?



While I was placing my new plants last weekend, I noticed a shoot emerging from the empty lot next to my house. This lot has been a treasure-trove of bulbs and plants, and the owner gave me her blessing to dig up anything that interests me. This bulb produced a particularly beautiful flower. I also dug up some oxblood/schoolhouse lilies, so I'll have those flowers to look forward to in a year!

Hooray for Halloween!

Fabulous Baby, With Cloche

Here is the absolutely beautiful Hailey wearing the crocheted cloche I made for her. She will be so cozy when a real cold front comes through!

Fall Plant Sale Success!

Hooray! My friend Shelby and I had a wonderful time at the master gardener fall plant sale yesterday. My best buys? Gingers!



Aren't they gorgeous? I also wanted to share the photo I took of my hamelia as the sun was setting last night. Hopefully I'll catch some hummingbirds around it this morning.

With all the photos posted of my friends' babies, Sindri has become a bit jealous. Here is my 8-year old little boy enjoying a favorite pasttime - going for a car ride!

Ok, here's what I have so far! I'm still not sure how big the finished product will be...I'm figuring it out as I go!

Weekend Update!

Well, better late than never! It was a good weekend as I was able to visit with Lina and Andy, and their gorgeous daughter Ava! Though born at only 2 lbs., she is now an active 15 lb. girl!

Something New for My Bag of Crafty Tricks!

Well, I finally gave in to my curiosity about quilting. I made this block yesterday and am working on a new one today. I've challenged myself to make the whole thing by hand...we'll see if I have the patience!

Bedroom Update

Hooray! The bedroom update is now complete!

And here's the "after." I love the Amy Butler fabric I ordered, as well as the sweet little bird pillow by Joom on etsy. I owe a big thank you to my mom, who helped me wrangle all that fabric and refreshed my sewing machine skills. Thanks, Mom!

My Favorite Summer Garden Addition

The lull in the rain last week seemed to help out my new roses . . .

However, they're looking pretty sad now. Roses, constant rain, and soggy soil don't mix!

A Blanket for Gus-Gus (Gustavo)

I finished the baby blanket for my co-worker Rosie this weekend.
